Wai, who is one of our Sole Trustee specialists, joined Capital Cranfield in June 2023. He brings more than 10 years’ trustee experience and has also acted as a Scheme Secretary.
His trustee work includes chairing an audit and risk committee for several years, funding and valuation processes, investment reviews and projects, such as GMP equalisation, trivial commutations and member communications. Wai firmly believes that best outcomes are achieved by working collaboratively with key stakeholders and advisers.
A former fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, Wai has extensive board and senior-level experience providing leadership and advice on governance, risk and compliance matters, as well as in a transaction support role to corporate and business teams. He was company secretary of Elementis plc for over a decade and his early work on ESG reporting won Elementis 1 of 4 inaugural UK CDP awards in 2014 for best improved disclosure. Previous positions include company secretarial roles at John Menzies plc, Chelsea FC and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Wai’s strategic and operational insights, broad-ranging experience and practical approach will be valued by his colleagues and clients at Capital Cranfield. Wai holds B.Com and LLM degrees, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a CIPR diploma in crisis (response) communications.
