Richard joined Capital Cranfield in 2014.
He had previously spent forty years at Willis Towers Watson as an actuarial consultant, including many years as one of the senior partners of Watson Wyatt LLP, a predecessor firm of Willis Towers Watson.
He has had a wide range of practical experience of trust based pension provision both in the UK and overseas, including running trustee training courses and advising trustees on the practical aspects of operating a pension scheme, from the setting up of a new scheme to scheme wind ups.
Richard now applies his knowledge and experience to a number of independent pension trustee roles.
He believes that clear, effective and open communication (with advisers, fellow trustees and with sponsoring employers) is an essential part of pension scheme governance.
Richard has a MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and an accredited member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees. Outside work, he is keen on running, cycling, skiing and flying (with an increasing emphasis on running and cycling in the current climate).
