He currently has multiple appointments as a chair or co-trustee of schemes ranging from £30m to £4bn and is a co-opted member of the pension committee of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. He chairs the pension committee of the Church of England Pension Board responsible for three very complex pension funds and a large housing charity.

Richard started his career in engineering in a large multi-national before moving through multiple commercial, corporate finance and investment decision making roles. Outside pensions Richard’s other roles include membership of the advisory committee of an energy company, a university vet school ethics committee and the finance committee of a multi-academy trust.

“Richard is a great fit and help for us and the board. He has been so, so helpful in adding momentum to the changes they need to make for the scheme and we can see already that he and the Chair have developed a good working relationship. Richard has brought his wider experience to bear helping to educate other board members and also been positive in helping find solutions to issues that have been allowed to linger. He also has a wicked sense of humour.”
