Paul started working with Capital Cranfield in 2026 having worked in Pensions for the previous 35 years.

Paul started working as a full-time Professional Trustee in 2023, although he has acted as a trustee for over 20 years in various roles during his pensions career. Over the years, he has acted as Chair of Mastertrusts and as a member of Trustee Boards of both DB and DC schemes. He has always had a strong interest in pensions administration and good governance with a focus on good member outcomes.  This led him to be invited to serve on the founding Council of the Institute of Customer Service for some years and he has continued to work closely with them.

Before becoming a Professional Trustee, Paul was the Managing Director and a shareholder in a start-up pensions consultancy which he helped build over nearly 20 years before selling to a larger firm in 2022. Prior to that, he was a worldwide partner with one of the global consultancies. This direct commercial experience enables Paul to understand pension issues from the sponsor’s perspective and enables him to build strong working relationships with them.

Paul has a broad range of current clients.  He is happy and able to work in a variety of roles. Currently he works as: chair, co-trustee, on sub-committees/chair of working groups and as the representative of the sole corporate trustee.

Paul is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (FPMI) and a past President and is also a Member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees (MAPPT). Paul is a keen sports fan following football, rugby and motor sport, in particular.
