Mark joined Capital Cranfield in 2020 and has over 30 years experience in all aspects of pensions, risk management and investment.

During his career to date, Mark has held a number of senior positions with responsibility for pensions advisory and administration businesses. He was also scheme actuary to several large UK pension funds dealing with all aspects of pension provision and complex funding arrangements, working collaboratively with trustees and sponsors to find sustainable solutions. He is experienced in pension scheme investment, funding, governance and administration, including working with overseas parents, trade unions and sectionalised schemes.

In his trustee roles, Mark chairs and sits as co-trustee on a number of defined benefit schemes (including 2 with assets over £4bn) and a large DC Master Trust (+£15bn assets). He chairs several investment committees, and is also a member of risk, governance and audit committees.

Mark is described as an enthusiastic, pragmatic and engaging trustee, with strong people and technical skills. He is an Accredited Professional Pension Trustee (APPT), has an honours degree in Statistics and is a qualified actuary. Outside pensions, Mark is a keen golfer, and amateur photographer, and loves to travel (preferably incorporating all three whenever possible).
