Giles joined Capital Cranfield in 2018 and has more than 30 years’ experience in various roles in the pensions industry.

He has worked a professional trustee since 2009 and has experience working with defined benefit, defined contribution schemes, Master Trusts and Independent Governance Committees. He acts as chair to a number of schemes as well as investment sub-committees.

His career has included working for an asset manager, consultancies, and an insurance company.

In addition to his extensive investment expertise, Giles’ experience includes funding negotiations, sectionalised schemes, Pensions Regulator investigations, Type A events, Flexible Apportionment Arrangements, parent company guarantees, contingent assets and exit management.

Outside work, Giles has been a keen sportsman playing cricket, hockey and now golf. He has been Chair of a Hockey Club and sat on several other sports club boards. He now spends his time ferrying children to their various activities and gardening when he can.
