Candia has worked with Capital Cranfield Trustees since 2005. Based at Scottish Pension Trustees in Edinburgh, she is an actuary who has specialised in the governance of pensions and investment.
With an insurance company training and background, Candia was latterly Head of Investment Marketing at Royal London and has also worked as an examiner for the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries.
Candia has strong organisational and communications skills and a collaborative style. She has substantial experience as a professional trustee, working on trustee boards and also as sole trustee with schemes of varying sizes in both the private and not-for-profit sectors. She spent nine years chairing a multi-billion pound SIPP trust and, as well as chairing the Investment Advisory Committee for Royal London, she currently works across a number of defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.
Candia has a degree in Psychology and Economics from Trinity College Dublin. Outside of work, she is a keen year-round wild swimmer and enjoys cycling, skiing and walking her two dogs.
