A senior and experienced pension fund trustee and investment professional Robert joined Capital Cranfield Pensions Trustees in 2008. Prior to his appointment he has had over 30 years of experience as an investment manager.

He is chairman of trustees of 6 pension schemes with both defined benefit and defined contribution structures. The schemes range in size – from approximately £25m to £3.0bn – and in nature of the sponsoring employer. They include professional institutions, a large UK based utility, a green energy recycling business and a subsidiary of a major international company.

He is a founding director and former council member of the Association of Professional Trustees (APPT), an organisation established to encourage and promote the highest professional standards in those who practise as professional pension trustees.

He became an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK in 1978 and a Fellow in 1997. In addition for almost 20 years he was a member of the Board of the CFA Society and for 13 years was the Chairman of their Examination and Education Committee. As such he was responsible for introducing and developing the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), the benchmark qualification in fund management.
