Richard joined Capital Cranfield in 2020 after twenty years working as a consulting actuary and pensions specialist within the corporate team at Deloitte.

He has provided commercially-focused advice at Board level on the full range of issues and challenges facing pension schemes. He has successfully worked in collaboration with corporates, trustees and other stakeholders to implement sustainable pension strategies. He has experience leading teams and managing multiple workstreams efficiently.

Richard brings extensive experience of actuarial valuations, funding solutions and de-risking of both assets and liabilities through to buy-out. He has also worked widely with schemes where there have been employer covenant issues or corporate activity including M&A, restructuring, refinancing, distress scenarios and dividend repatriation.

Among Richard’s strengths are his ability to understand clients’ “big picture” business and pension objectives, their pension issues and the options available to solve them. He is passionate about bringing to the table clear, pragmatic and innovative solutions for complex pension situations.

Richard is a qualified actuary and accredited member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees. Outside work, Richard enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his family and listening to classical music. He has been a governor on the education committee for his children’s primary school.
