Ray is a Professional Trustee who joined Capital Cranfield in 2023.

He is a natural team player and combines deep industry expertise with a pragmatic style to ensure trustee boards work together in a results orientated and consensual manner. His collaborative style ensures that he brings the benefit of his experience without dominating the debate.

Ray was a partner at KPMG and Isio for 20 years. He divided his time as a senior Scheme Actuary advising trustee boards and a corporate pensions consultant. This balance enables him to quickly understand the viewpoints of all parties and facilitate solutions that are mutually acceptable.

Ray’s experience has seen him successfully implement investment and funding solutions including asset backed funding arrangements, liability management exercises and risk transfer projects. He also has extensive experience working on business transactions and agreeing suitable mitigation of any change in covenant. He also maintains a strong focus on governance and pensions administration.

Having led Isio and KPMG’s Trustee Services practice for over 10 years, Ray understands the challenges and opportunities of pensions administration and is keen to work with advisers to deliver effective and efficient service to members.

Away from pensions, Ray volunteers at the Citizens Advice Bureau and has a keen interest in all sports and regularly plays tennis, golf and cycling. He also enjoys travel with an emphasis on local food, drink and culture.
